And now, some points to ponder.
1. Why has the Obama / Biden Ticket stopped doing press events? Are they tired of Biden saying stupid things (elect us, and watch us screw you. The polls will go down, but you will have to stand for it anyway), and Obama saying stupid things (do you smell what Barack is cooking... I have been in 57 states, with 1 left to go)? Yes, he really thinks there are 60 states, the 58 contiguous US Alaska and Hawaii. and Going back as far as 2/9/20007 Biden was saying that Obama is an outstanding black man. Mainly because he is articulate and bright and clean.
2. Why don't people ask questions for themsleves? Are we stuck in a rut of just looking at all these celebrity endorsments for Obama and walking like sheep to the slaughter? Wow, Michael Jackson, Danny Devito, Natalie Mains, Bill Maher, Oprah, Tom Hanks, Opie, Whoopie, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Barbra Streisand and a whole bunch of other half retarded actors and musicians tell me to vote for Obama... and I listen? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? These are the people who thought you needed to get immunized before going to a NASCAR race. I have been to North Carolina, and um, while you don't need a shot, you can find some pretty wonderful places to DO SHOTS.
3. Don't fall for the phrase "The Democratic party used to be the Republican Party, and vice versa." This is a bait and switch. The Democratic party started the KKK, trying to punish and subjugate blacks after the Civil War. The Republican party fought to free those same slaves. So, when you hear someone tell you that the parties used to be opposite of what they are now, don't buy it. Read up on your history, and you will see that the parties have not changed their stances much in the last few hundred years. Joe Kieley, this one is for you, my brother.
4. Now, I know, by thinking that Obama is a liar, a fraud, a rookie, I am a racist. Fine, bring it on. I am a racist. I hold people to their actions and morals. If that is what racism is, awesome. Let me be crystal effing clear on this point. I am not ashamed of being white. I am not sorry for the color of my skin. I will not apologize for the tone that I was born. I will not be bullied into voting for someone, doing something, drinking something, buying something or saying something (git er done) based solely on the color of my skin. I like being white. I am not implying that you should not like being whatever color you are. I don't honestly give a crap what you like or dislike about yourself, regardless of what shade you are on your skin. I like me. All of me, including the color and not-so-colored parts of me. (you should see me in shorts. BRIGHT) Why can I say this? Because God likes me, loves me even, calls me his son. And at that point, I don't give a rat's turd chute what you think about me.
5. Finally, my anecdote for the day.
I was at a coffee shop recently. You know, the one with the white and green circle-ish logo? I am sitting at a table on the patio, as far away from the door as I can get. This is a great table that let's me smoke without getting beat up by skinny, twitchy barristas. From my table I can hear a couple people talking about the election. I normally wouldn't explain the characters in this much detail, but it bears hearing. There are two young girls, one beautiful black girl. Tall, composed, nicely dressed. I saw her and images of royalty sprang to mind. Her friend is what we would call TCU blonde. If you don't know what that means, this is how it was described at Students Review "The typical woman is a runway model type bleach blonde with Kate Spade bags and high heels and guys are Abercrombie wearing, beer-guzzling meatheads." I digress...
these girls are talking about the upcoming election, like we all are. Both were intelligent, educated women. I was not trying to eavsedrop. The patio at this little coffee-house-of-horrors is pretty cramped, and the girls were maybe 3 feet from me. So, one of these politicos says, and I quote, "I just think it's great that no blacks will vote for John McCain, no matter how Sarah dresses." I shudder to think that these people are the next generation of leaders, or leaders' wives.
In the spirit of my two friends from the Coffe-Patio-of-Doom, I give you this. Enjoy.
